Niveus vs Rudeo

There has been a lot of press surrounding the release of Niveus Pocket Remote Software for wirelessly controlling XP Media Centre. I have been an avid user of Rudeo software for controlling my media centre but thought I would give the competition a go :(

I installed the software and all seemed to be going well (except for an obscure version of the .net framework required???) then I tried to connect to the media centre and....nothing. So I tried what all techies and geeks would try... the usual troubleshooting regime. Then after all else failed - read the instruction manual! Nothing about connectivity issues, not a problem I thought, they will have a good FAQ and we will be sorted - so off to the web site :(

The lack of any support info did suprise me a little but thought I would give the site a good workover in case it was hiding... nothing! Email if you want support = uninstall.

If you are going to commercialise a product you need to get your support framework in order first!

Needless to say Rudeo is still going strong and see no reason to change...should have said the old "if it aint broke don't try to fix it" line to myself before wasting an hour which I will never get back.
